About Anna

A passionate educator, organizer, and researcher, Anna Stamborski brings expertise from education and religious backgrounds to support the work of healing and justice within communities. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Spanish and a minor in Earth Sciences. While a bilingual public school educator, working with students of a dozen different ethnicities, she was trained in Restorative Justice education and mediation.

After over a decade of working with students, she was called to Princeton Theological Seminary to study the intersection of race and American Christianity where she was trained in community organizing, qualitative research, and ethnography. Graduating summa cum laude with a Masters of Divinity and Black Church Studies she went on to becoming the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Faith and Prejudice, a national nonprofit that looks to support pastors and lay leaders in addressing racism in their communities. During her time with Faith and Prejudice she has built strategic networks both locally and nationally, consulted international organizations on best practices in JEDI arenas, and has created and implemented trainings for churches, denominations, and communities around racialized bias, biblical antiracism, change management, and affinity-spaces.

Anna has incredible ability to digest and analyze large amounts of information and boil them down to the salient pieces and provide pragmatic recommendations. She demonstrated her facilitation skills in a number of our meetings to bring out discussion around the issues with great clarity. It was a privilege to work with her and I would highly recommend her.

Anna Stamborski has been instrumental in the racial justice work of the St. Paul Area Synod (ELCA) over the past two years. She has led a number of workshops across our synod with lay leaders, interim pastors, and settled call pastors on a variety of topics including diversity, equity, and inclusion, racial and gender justice, and understanding bias. Anna combines her depth of experience and knowledge with a truly accessible facilitation style. She is able to meet individuals and groups where they are and then help them to move forward. She is able to dive into the complex questions and intersections with care while paying attention to the diversity of viewpoints in the room. I would highly recommend Anna Stamborski!

Working with Anna energizes and encourages me! Whether she was cultivating research relationships with openness and care, meticulously analyzing data, or bringing her characteristic incisive thinking to idea-generating and problem-solving, having her on the research team, in the community, and in the room simply made us all better. Anna is the rare minister-researcher-community organizer total package! She’s truly enigmatic: a dynamic, fearless leader, yet with a genuinely humble heart.
